Chelsea have reportedly started negotiations with Galatasaray over a possible loan deal for midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.
The former Monaco man has failed to impress new manager Frank Lampard, who is keen to offload him before the start of the new English Premier League.
Bakayoko joined the Blues in 2017 for £40m but failed to settle in West London, and was eventually shipped out to AC Milan on loan, who opted not to turn the deal into a permanent move despite having a £32 million clause.
It is believed that the Rossoneri’s failure to qualify for the Champions League was one of the reasons why they failed to sign him since they couldn’t spend so much of their budget on just one player.
The 24-year-old was part of Lampard’s preseason team but played only for 185 minutes, and was left out of the club’s last two friendlies against Red Bull Salzburg and Borussia Monchengladbach.
Davide Zappacosta is one other player thought to be on the move, with the new manager deciding to have Reece James as Cezar Azpilicueta’s main backup next season.
Chelsea will open their new campaign with a tough match against rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on August 11.
